I have been designing and maintaining web sites for many years.
I always try to “go the extra mile” in order to provide my clients with a product that enhances their business, whilst incorporating tools and content that best illustrates their message.
My “first love” (apart from my wife - she tells me), I began my career in media as a professional photographer and although I thoroughly enjoy the variety of other work that I do, I suppose this will always be my passion
With the introduction of digital photography and particularly photoshop - my photographic passion has intensified.

It was a natural progression for me to move into video production
Not satisfied with just being a cameraman, I grew up with tape based video editing and was at the forefront of digital video production at it’s earliest conception. I also gained experience as a script writer and producer.

Since establishing Pete Smithies Media, I have produced a variety of interactive multi media product. Some of which
can be seen at the National Army Museum in Waiouru, but I have also produced material for New Zealand Defence, District Councils and Financial institutions.
Confidentiality agreements and bandwidth issues preclude me from showing much content - but I will be adding material as and when bandwidth is improved. I have a showcase DVD that I can make available on request for interested parties.
If I am honest, this is the weakest area in my arsenal, simply because it is such a demanding time consuming discipline with steep learning curves.
I do produce simple animations/logos for clients as well as illustrative animation sequences for interactive multi media projects.
